The Orton Gillingham Institute, Inc. is now enrolling students for our 6-Week Summer Reading Boost, a virtual small-group reading program designed to help students strengthen reading skills before the new school year begins.
This program is ideal for students who need additional support with phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, reading confidence, or overall reading practice during the summer.
Students are grouped by grade band so instruction can be targeted, age-appropriate, and supportive.
Program Dates
Classes begin July 14th, 2026- August 22nd, 2026
The program runs for 6 weeks.
Class Format
All classes are held virtually.
Each class is 60 minutes.
Students are placed in one of the following grade bands:
K–2
Grades 3–5
Grades 6–8
Families may choose either the 2-day Tuesday and Thursday weekly class option or the Saturday-only class option.
2-Day Weekly Class Option
Tuesdays and Thursdays
K–2: 4:00–5:00 PM ET
Grades 3–5: 5:15–6:15 PM ET
Grades 6–8: 6:30–7:30 PM ET
Tuition: $75 per week
Total Program Cost: $450 for 6 weeks
First 2 Weeks Due at Registration: $150
Saturday-Only Class Option
Saturdays
K–2: 10:00–11:00 AM ET
Grades 3–5: 11:15 AM–12:15 PM ET
Grades 6–8: 12:30–1:30 PM ET
Tuition: $50 per week
Total Program Cost: $300 for 6 weeks
First 2 Weeks Due at Registration: $100
What Students Will Work On
Instruction may include support in:
Phonics and decoding
Phonemic Awareness
Word reading
Fluency
Vocabulary
Reading comprehension
Spelling patterns
Morphology
Confidence with reading
Foundational literacy skills
Reading strategies for grade-level success
Skills are addressed based on the grade band and the needs of the group.
Payment Requirement
The first 2 weeks of tuition are due at registration to reserve your child’s seat.
For the 2-day weekly class, the amount due at registration is $150.
For the Saturday-only class, the amount due at registration is $100.
Seats are not confirmed until payment is received.
Remaining weekly payments are due before each upcoming week of class unless tuition is paid in full.
Testing Is Not Included
Reading testing is not included in the 6-Week Summer Reading Boost tuition.
Families who would like a personalized reading evaluation may register separately for the $65 Reading Evaluation.
The optional evaluation includes reading testing, dyslexia-risk screening, skill-gap results, a written parent report, and personalized recommendations.

Need extra reading support before school starts
Struggle with encoding, decoding or word reading
Need help with fluency or comprehension
Need structured summer reading practice

Need a lower-commitment option than intensive tutoring
Need continued reading support during the summer
Important Notes and Details
Classes are virtual.
Students need a computer, laptop, Chromebook, or tablet with internet access.
Headphones or earbuds are recommended.
Students should attend from a quiet space where they can participate.
Class seats are limited.
